The Minki is a stuff-able nappy. This means that it is stuffed with the absorbent part to wear and then, the stuffing is removed to wash. This cuts down on the drying time but it is still as easy to put on as an AIO. These nappies are made for us by Michaela at Minki's. Though not technically 100% natural (because they are made from polyester fleece), these nappies perform so well, keeping baby's bottom incredibly dry (the polyester drawing the moisture away from baby's bottom and onto the soaker pad inside).
It is made up of three layers. The inner layer is 100% polyester fleece (sooo soft and comfy), then the pocket, in which you stuff your padding. Next is a layer of PUL, which is waterproof, soft, flexible and silent and lastly, the outside, which is fleece. Once stuffed, a Minki works just like an AIO (all in one) and is just as easy as a disposable, great for husbands, Grandparents etc. All you have to do is stuff with a Minki soaker pad or anything to hand, ie. prefolds, terries, an old bathroom towel, even an old tea towel!!), just making sure that the area which the baby sits on is absolutely flat (no ridges, which could be uncomfortable). For heavy wetters and night time use - put extra booster pads inside.
Michaela's attention to detail is incredible. The nappies are beautifully made, made by her team of sewers. The fastenings are Applix. She carefully cuts round the Applix strips so there are no sharp edges. On the Standard, extra Applix is used, so you can double it over, making the nappy last twice as long. The cut, shape - everything about the design is pure comfort.
Washing instructions - Wash at 40C degrees, with an occasional 60C and line dry (or on a radiator). You can tumble dry them on low too.

Style -
- Standard Fit - with Applix (high in the rise, wider between the legs, cross over tabs) - generally more cost effective, with a wider size range. Jonny was wearing his larges at 11m and wore them til he potty trained at 4.5yrs. Good for chubby babies
- Slinki Minki Fit - with Applix (generally slimmer and smaller all round, no crossover tabs.) Good for slim babies
