Our own range of Natural Child toiletries, made especially for us, using the purest of ingredients. This beautiful, authentic African Black Soap is traditionally handcrafted and fairly traded with Women's co operatives in Togo, West Africa. It is made with 48% pure, organically grown, wildcrafted shea butter and virgin palm kernel oil. The lye that is used in the saponification process, is made from the ash of dried banana leaves and the bark from the local Agow tree (harvested sustainably). There are no chemicals, preservatives, colour enhancers or fragrances added to the recipe. The black colour of the soap is developed as a result of the saponification process which it undergoes. It is completely free from black dyes and charcoal. Our African black soap has a very mild scent and a wonderful creamy lather, which leaves your skin moisturised and soft. African Black Soap is one of the healthiest soaps for the skin due to the purity and simplicity of the ingredients.

Directions - Black soap absorbs water easily, so keep your bar on a soap dish. This soap is softer than commercial soaps so it is easy to slice a piece off the main bar, when using as a shampoo bar. Do not let your toddler leave it in the bottom of the bath though, as it will absorb water and melt!!

As this is a pure product, you may get the occasional grain of grit in it, so rub it into your hands first, rather than straight on the body, to avoid being scratched! Don't let this put you off using it on Baby, as it really is the kindest soap to use on Baby's skin.

In Togo, black soap is the only soap used by mothers to wash their newborn babies, as its purity makes it gentle and non-drying for their sensitive skin. Black Soap is recommended for young and old, or anyone with tender skin. It leaves the skin smooth and soft. As a facial soap, it is excellent for cleansing without drying and clearing acne. African people also use Black Soap to get rid of rashes, ring worm, measles, eczema and as a natural shampoo to avoid dry, itchy scalps. If you suffer from a scabby scalp, Black Soap will make a huge improvement. We get tremendous feedback about it's properties and it is suitable for ALL skin types.

This wonderful coconut oil smells absolutely gorgeous. Totally free from bleaching agents it has not been deodorised or fractionated & retains all its natural aroma & goodness. 100% natural & cold pressed, it has a pure white colour & a superb coconut aroma.

As a moisturiser it absorbs very readily into the skin & keeps it soft, but not greasy. Virgin Coconut Oil is actually more of a coconut 'cream' & at normal room temperature it is a semi solid butter. Coconut Oil is softer than shea butter & melts quicker on the skin. If you kept it in a very warm place (like on a sunny windowsill) it will eventually melt into a light golden oil.

Coconut oil can be used as an all over body moisturiser & hair conditioner.
It helps to reduce chronic skin inflammation & is soothing and healing to wounds, blood blisters & rashes. Coconut oil also aids in the removal of the outer layer of dead skin cells, making the skin smoother. The small molecular structure of coconut oil allows for easy absorption through the skin, giving it a soft, smooth texture. While doing this the coconut oil penetrates into the deeper layers of the skin and strengthen the underlying tissues.

Organic coconut oil is wonderful to use as a hair conditioner as it softens the hair and conditions the scalp. Using the coconut oil as a pre-wash conditioner can help combat dandruff. Coconut oil is famed for its ability to strengthen the structure of damaged, devitalized hair being an effective lubricator. It also softens the hair shaft through the action of minerals such as magnesium, potassium, calcium, and iron. The best way to apply the coconut oil is to massage the oil gently into the scalp & leave for up to half an hour before shampooing out. (You can leave on as long as you wish, but this will make it harder to shampoo out as it cools!!)
