I've been using my sling for about two months now.
At first, I was sceptical. I'd used a padded sling, which was a miserable failure, and I wasn't even quite sure why I was ordering one when my daughter was a toddler. I thought for sure it would be too painful to lug 28 pounds of baby in it for any amount of time, that it would hurt my shoulders and neck muscles, and that it was pointless now that she wasn't nursing any longer. But I thought it was worth a shot, since she'd gotten too heavy to carry comfortably in any of our other baby carriers.
I absolutely LOVE it! It's perfect for absolutely everything. I have chronic lower back pain that was aggravated by the traditional backpacks, and now I don't feel a thing. My fears of shoulder and neck pain are nonexistent. When we're out for a long time, and she wants to take a nap, I switch her to the nursing position and she can sleep, and none of it is the least bit uncomfortable for me! If I draw the top rail up a bit and tighten it, she can lean against me, cuddling and half-snoozing, if I loosen the top rail, she can sit up on my hip, and able to see everything. Even the back carry position is comfortable for us, which I simply can't believe. I wish I'd bought one when she was a newborn.
After my husband saw how fanatical we'd become about it, he bought one for himself, and if anything, he gets MORE comments and compliments about babywearing than I do! We couldn't give them up for the world, and Julie loves it so much she likes to cuddle with the sling at night, a far cry from when she'd scream whenever she was in a padded sling.
Our baby present to his brother and sister-in-law was a Maya Wrap sling, and it's working as well for her with a newborn as it is for me with a toddler. The Maya Wrap Sling is absolutely wonderful and the only sling I'd ever recommend to anybody.

My husband and I love our Maya Wrap sling. We started using it when our daughter was 3 weeks old. She is now 10 weeks and absolutely loves it. I wear her during the day and my husband wears her during the evening. Using the sling has made our lives so much easier. We are able to go out to dinner, shopping etc without her slowing us down. I love to breastfeed in the sling. It is so easy and discreet, most people do not even realize what I am doing. The really neat thing is our daughter recognizes the sling now. If we are out somewhere and she starts to get fussy all I have to do is ask her is she wants to go into her sling and she starts to relax. Thank you for making such a great product.

I just wanted to say thank you for making such a FANTASTIC product. I found it indispensable when my son was 16 months old and was hospitalized for 1 week. He had an IV attached to his arm and if I did not have the sling, it would have made life very difficult to carry him around while pushing his IV pole as well. This way I was able to carry him, push the pole and have an extra arm free. Plus, my arms never hurt, my back never hurt, and when he needed to be comforted I could hold him close for hours! It was such a tremendous help. He is now almost 19 months and I can still carry him on my back if he wants to stay close while I get things done around the house. I’m almost sad that he doesn’t ask to be carried as much as he used to when he was younger! Thanks again!
