This beautiful, authentic African Black Soap is traditionally handcrafted and fairly traded with Women's co operatives in Togo, West Africa. It is made with 48% pure, organically grown, wildcrafted shea butter and virgin palm kernel oil. The lye that is used in the saponification process, is made from the ash of dried banana leaves and the bark from the local Agow tree (harvested sustainably). There are no chemicals, preservatives, colour enhancers or fragrances added to the recipe. The black colour of the soap is developed as a result of the saponification process which it undergoes. It is completely free from black dyes and charcoal. Our African black soap has a very mild scent and a wonderful creamy lather, which leaves your skin moisturised and soft. Directions - Black soap absorbs water easily, so keep your bar on a soap dish. This soap is softer than commercial soaps so it is easy to slice a piece off the main bar, when using as a shampoo bar. As this is a pure product, you may get the occasional grain of grit in it, so rub it into your hands first, rather than straight on the body, to avoid being scratched! Don't let this put you off using it on Baby, as it really is the kindest soap to use on Baby's skin.

Pure olive oil soap.

Pure olive oil soap for washing anything - especially good for wool wraps!

We use this as a family soap bar, as it is scent-free, a good size and we don't seem to get through it as fast as some other soaps. My husband particularly likes it for shaving. This soap doesn't seem to dry the skin.

Like all natural soaps, keep dry in between uses, as they absorb moisture easily.
