The fair trade, organic beeswax, honey, shea butter & tropical oils help to empower small, vulnerable communities in other countries. The organic forest beeswax & honey is fairly traded with Miombo beekeepers in Zambia, so helping to preserve tribal communities & the forests they live in. The organically grown Sheabutter is fairly traded with womens' co-operatives in Togo, helping to fund renewable energy projects & provide better amenities. We have introduced some new recipes with many more organic ingredients. We have tried to make them affordable for everyone and good value for money. We hope you enjoy using them.

About Our Toiletries

Firstly, concerning our labelling of our products, please be reassured that our product labels are complete ie....... there are no undisclosed ingredients contained in the products.

• Our manufacturer does not use any borax or emulsifiers in our skincare range. The oils and waters are emulsified in a lengthy, temperature-sensivitive mixing process, without the use of chemical ingredients, using only organic beeswax as the emulsifier. Separation can occur in the creams if they are exposed to extremes of temperatures or humidity, reflecting the totally natural "nature" of the product.
• The products we sell, were formulated under the direction of our manufacturer's chemist who regularly tests our products for the presence of harmful bacteria and pathogens, including e-coli and streptococcus which are known to be extremely dangerous to the skin.
• The products are given a short shelf-life (about 1 year), which reflects the 'preservative-free' nature of the products. Unlike other cosmetics, these creams do not contain high amounts of water. Our manufacturer uses only a small percentage of distilled flower/plant waters in the creams to increase the therapeutic quality of the end product. By the very nature of the flower waters, (being a pure distillate), they are not 'bacteria friendly'. Most conventional cosmetics contain high amounts of 'aqua' which necessitates the stringent use of preservatives.
• As our products are preservative free, the products are made in small batches, ensuring our customers always receive products which are fresh - at the beginning of their shelf-lives. All the individual raw ingredients are food-grade and are safety tested for bacteria content.
• Bacteria will only form when some "foreign body" enters the mix....... this can be introduced after the jar has been opened so we advise our customers to ensure a high standard of hygiene when using the product. Some of our customers actually use a spatula to remove their cream - which minimises bacteria contamination from a dirty finger. Our oil/butter products have a longer shelf life which reflects their water-free status; ensuring they are less hospitable to bacteria.
• Each baby skincare recipe was created with special consideration given to the nature of baby's skin and its greater ability to absorb whatever is applied to it. Essential oils used in our babycare products were specially chosen for their gentle, 'baby-friendly' properties and added at a level less than the recommended safety levels for babies skin.
